In this workshop we will discuss and explore intentional and focused alignment in several key asanas (postures) we do in class to develop safety and effectiveness during a yoga practice. Every BODY is different, but everyBODY is capable of doing yoga in their own way. We'll focus on micro hands-on adjustments that could make a huge shift in your experience physically, mentally, and/or energetically.
We'll take a deep look at:
Specific energy locks in the body during key postures
Opening lines of energy
How to safely do a chaturanga, backbend, and hopping forward
Different energetics of moving fast vs. moving slow, stillness vs. movement
Awareness of making smart choices for what's best for your body as you go through a yoga practice
Following your breath rhythm throughout a practice
Simple meditation tips
Common adjustments that could potentially change the way you approach and experience your practice - all in the name of safety, freedom, and intention
This workshop is designed for practitioners who have already been taking yoga regularly for at least a month or longer. Please come prepared with any specific questions you have about your yoga practice. Expect movement, but also moments of pausing to discuss specific alignment in one body vs. another body to practice letting go of self-judgment and/or comparison. Limited to 10 people.
